Subaru and its retailers partner with Operation Warm® to visit local homeless shelters and support agencies to provide children with brand-new necessities like coats, shoes, and socks.
These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, they can also have a significant impact on a child’s mental and emotional well-being.
Through this partnership and other historical Subaru Loves to Help efforts, Subaru and retailers like us will have supported over 1 million children and adults in urgent need nationwide.
At Subaru, we believe what we leave behind is a reflection of who we are. That’s why Subaru and our retailers partner with the Arbor Day Foundation (TM) to provide and distribute 100,000 regionally appropriate trees across the country. We’re proud to establish the largest corporate tree distribution ever. Through this and other Subaru Loves the Earth initiatives, Subaru and our retailers have helped distribute and plant over 1.1 million trees.
Subaru believes we should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. That’s why for over 10 years, Subaru and its retailers like us have partnered with Blood Cancer United® and our local hospital to give warm blankets and encouraging messages of hope, written by our employees and customers, to support our community members living with cancer. Through our combined efforts during this partnership, we have supported over 550,000 cancer patients nationwide. Together, we are proud to be Blood Cancer United’s largest automotive donor.
Subaru and its retailers, like us, are continuing our support of education and high-needs schools in our communities through Subaru Loves Learning(R) by providing teachers across the country with funding to purchase the school supplies and resources they know are needed to help students thrive in the classroom. Through our partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru and its retailers have supported more than 950,000 students nationwide and are proud to be their largest corporate supporter.
Subaru believes all pets deserve a loving home. That's why retailers like us partner with our local animal welfare organization every October to provide direct financial assistance through a grant distributed by the ASPCA® and host pet events to help animals find loving homes. Through our partnership with local and national organizations, Subaru has donated over $70 million, supporting the rescue, adoption, and health of over 700,000 animals. We're proud to be the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA.

Thanks to Subaru's generosity, this year's Operation Warm event was a meaningful success, providing warm winter coats to children, families, and members of our surrounding community. Your support ensured that individuals facing financial hardship could head into the winter season with greater comfort, dignity, and peace of mind. One moment in particular reflected the true impact of your contribution. During the event, an individual who was not registered approached our team and shared that he was in urgent need of a coat. Because of thoughtful planning and the availability of adult-sized coats made possible through donor support, we were able to immediately provide him with one. His gratitude was sincere and deeply moving. Moments like this underscore the importance of your investment. Your support allows us to respond not only to expected needs, but also to unexpected ones; reaching individuals who may otherwise fall through the cracks. To Tasca Subaru of Yonkers, My name is Christina Mahoney, and I am a 3/4th grade Special Education teacher at Eugenio Maria de Hostos MicroSociety School, located in Yonkers, NY. Many of my students come from low-income households, and while they are full of curiosity, creativity, and potential, they often face challenges that make learning more difficult. As a teacher, I do everything I can to create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment, but sometimes my budget simply cannot cover all the materials we need. Thanks to your generous donation, it has helped me purchase essential supplies that are making a meaningful impact on my autistic students. These resources have allowed me to create a more structured, sensory friendly, and supportive learning environment. Tasca Subaru Yonkers partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and St. John’s Riverside Hospital through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. The partnership involved delivering blankets, and messages of hope to cancer patients. On July 24, 2025, Tasca Subaru Yonkers personally delivered these items to patients in treatment. Together we have spread warmth, love, and relief to cancer patients and their families as part of Subaru Loves to Care®. The local staff at Tasca Subaru Yonkers partnered with local LLS and St. John’s Riverside Hospital staff to visit and pass out blankets to patients fighting cancer. It was a memorable morning of giving back to our community. Many thanks to the devoted staff at St. John’s Riverside Hospital who go above and beyond for all of those affected by blood cancers. Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Yonkers, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Tasca Subaru of Yonkers is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Tasca Subaru of Yonkers have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/20/2025, Tasca Subaru of Yonkers donated 120 coats to Yonkers Family YMCA. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.
Mother Nature, in all her glory, provides a bounty of abundance. As occupants of the Earth, we exist in a delicate balance, the carbon dioxide (CO₂) we exhale is vital for trees and plants, fueling the photosynthesis process that transforms light energy into food. In turn, these trees and plants gift us life providing oxygen, nurturing food, essential lifesaving medicine, coffee, tea, chocolate, beautiful breathtaking blooming trees, and flowers. They embody some of life's most complex yet simple pleasures. Close your eyes for a moment and imagine a world of scarcity, a frightening thought, right? Many of us are accustomed to a life of abundance, we drive to the grocery store, select what we want and rarely think twice about it. In writing this Love Promise Story, I’m reminded of one of my favorite childhood books—The Giving Tree. Perhaps you've read it. Some may find this reflection amateur, but I believe it serves as a necessary reminder. You might say to yourself, I don’t need a refresher course on Earth science or childhood nostalgia. But the sad reality is most of us do. Earth is home to approximately 1 trillion species, each contributing to the ecosystem’s balance. Most people understand the path we are heading down and the unfortunate destruction we have caused. Every year, approximately 15 billion trees are cut down globally to supply urban development, mining, and agriculture. Deforestation is unsustainable. It’s diminishing Earth’s biodiversity, disrupting ecosystems, and increasing the planet’s carbon footprint. Oxygen is essential for all life on Earth. We must learn to coexist. Nature has given us so much, yet we return so little to the very environment we rely on. The only constant in life is change, and whether it is for better or worse is up to us. Your individual choices matter. As Isaac Newton once said: To every action there is always opposed an equal reaction. I hope that resonates with you. I hope you care enough to understand. When I leave this planet, I hope to have left an impression on the soil of the Earth, contributing to a better future. All future generations deserve the opportunity to experience the beauty life has to offer. I am deeply grateful to work for a brand that values both the environment and humanity. Subaru has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a diverse variety of 100,000 trees nationwide. These trees are expected to grow anywhere from 50 to 130 feet tall and will enrich the landscapes and communities where they take root, as well as become part of countless cherished stories and memories, passed down through generations. In 2019, Subaru established National Make a Dog’s Day, a day created to encourage all dog lovers to do something special for their dogs. This year, Tasca Subaru of Yonkers, New York, brought awareness to the community to consider welcoming underdogs—older and disabled shelter dogs who deserve a loving home. However, this event was not only for dogs; it was for all animals. Many people from different walks of life have similar sentiments towards dogs, cats, and animals alike. I think most of us, at some point, have come across an animal that has brought us a moment of joy, whether it was simply in passing, petting one, or admiring one. For those of you who have or had a pet, I know you can relate when I say they become our family. They come into our homes, taking up space not only on our favorite spot on the couch but also in our hearts. They are full of unconditional love, waiting to greet you when you arrive. They become our friends and loyal companions, whether they’re checking to see who’s at the door or, in the case of cats, acting as gatekeepers. Often, they are extremely in tune with our emotions and moods, displaying qualities of humor, love, gentleness, and bravery. Animals are sweet, loving souls and a blessing to have. Tasca & Subaru will continue to share their support and love for these beautiful animals who are so deserving of love and kindness. This is our Love Promise story.
Eugenio Maria De Hostos School, in the heart of Yonkers, New York, is a beacon of hope for intellectual growth and social development. For decades, this has been a school where dreams take flight and futures are forged. Behind every great institution is a story of unwavering support and love. It takes a village to raise a child, and the children of today are our future of tomorrow. The sheer commitment and dedication from the teachers and staff are evident. Day after day, they are present as mentors, role models, and friends to the students, showing them that success is within reach and that they are valued members of the community. All children deserve the opportunity to learn. Unfortunately, 92% of teachers have students whose families cannot afford supplies. That is why Tasca Subaru of Yonkers, New York, has partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org. For the past two years, our contribution has benefited 12 classrooms and 600 students, totaling $7,440 to date. Subaru is the largest corporate donor to AdoptAClassroom.org. Teachers, once burdened by the lack of resources, can now purchase the necessary supplies so that every student has the same opportunities, and it doesn’t have to come out of their pockets. Having the necessary tools can assist with bringing lessons to life and igniting a passion for learning in their students. We hope our donation helps students walk with newfound confidence, knowing that they have a team of supporters cheering them on. We also hope that teachers feel a renewed sense of purpose, knowing that their efforts are recognized and appreciated. United by a shared vision of a brighter future for our community, we can thrive. Every three minutes, a person in the U.S is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma - blood cancers that often requires patients to endure difficult treatments that leave them feeling weak, cold, and isolated. Since 2016, Subaru has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) to provide warmth, love, and relief by delivering over 230,000 blankets along with patient care kits and encouraging messages of hope. Tasca Subaru of Yonkers delivered 80 blankets and 10 patient care kits to St. John’s Riverside Hospital . We are proud to continue this partnership and look forward to many years to come. In a heartwarming partnership, Tasca Subaru of Yonkers and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) have combined forces to make a tangible difference in the lives of those undergoing cancer treatment. Tasca Subaru of Yonkers has proven to be a beacon of generosity and care, demonstrating a genuine commitment to our shared mission of creating a world free from blood cancer. Together, with the support of Saint Johns Riverside, Tasca Subaru of Yonkers has generously contributed 80 comforting blankets to the patients who are undergoing treatments, often spending long hours in the infusion center. These blankets serve as a symbol of warmth and solidarity, enveloping patients with a sense of comfort during their journey towards recovery. Recognizing the significance of easing the journey for patients, Tasca Subaru of Yonkers has generously offered 10 patient care kits. These kits encompass essential items that enhance the comfort and well-being of patients during their hospital stays. These thoughtfully curated care kits provide not only practical support but also convey a message of care and understanding. Moreover, the outpouring of love and encouragement from Subaru customers has been truly heartening. Their heartfelt messages of hope and inspiration, collected by Tasca Subaru of Yonkers, have been a source of comfort and strength for the patients at Saint Johns Riverside. These messages remind patients that they are supported by a caring community, and that they are not alone in their battle. LLS extends its deepest gratitude to the entire Tasca Subaru of Yonkers family for embodying the spirit of compassion and for standing by us in our commitment to eradicate blood cancer. Your dedication serves as a powerful example of what can be achieved when a community rallies together to make a difference.
